Help Meseret Canoe the Canadian Arctic!
Donation protected
Hi everyone! This summer, I've been given the amazing opportunity to take part in a 50-day canoe expedition with 6 other young women, through the Canadian Arctic with Camp Menogyn—a place that has played a huge role in my life since I was 11 years old. From my very first 5-day trip to returning last summer as an intern, Menogyn has helped shape me into the person I am today. It's more than just a camp—it's a community that's taught me resilience, leadership, and deep respect for nature.
Our journey will begin on Vermette Lake, where we'll paddle through a series of remote lakes that eventually flow into the Elk River.
From there, we'll follow the river north to its confluence with the Thelon River, one of the most remote and beautiful rivers in North America. We'll then paddle the Thelon all the way to Baker Lake, Nunavut. Along the way, we'll encounter stunning Arctic landscapes, pristine water, and incredible wildlife—caribou, muskoxen, and maybe even wolves or bears! This trip is not only a physical and mental challenge, but a truly once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the untouched wilderness of the far north.
Any support you can give will help cover the significant travel and outfitting costs needed to make this dream a reality. Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me.
