Help Meryl become a pirate queen!

When I came home on Friday, Meryl (my beautiful sweet long girl who loves everyone) was squinting her right eye. Then her eye started bleeding. By Sunday, the right side of her face was swollen and she was in a lot of pain. 

Today, I learned that she has lost vision in her right eye, and it will have to be removed. And she might have cancer or valley fever. We’re still waiting for the test results. Regardless, she has lost sight in her right eye, and she won’t get it back.

I just started grad school. I bought a house three months ago. I’m a little bit broke, to put it mildly.

If you have ever met Meryl, you know she is full of weird, awkward, exuberant love for everyone she meets. If she has not met you, she still loves you. And french fries. And pizza. 

And as for me? She’s my best girl. My ride or die girl. I would do anything for her. The first time I met Meryl, I knelt down to let her sniff me. She touched her nose to my nose, and I knew that she was my greyhound. She was the one for me. 

She’s been with me through chaos, break ups, innumerable moves, and everything else.  All I want is to give her the quality of life she deserves.
