Over the last 20 years, our friend Meredyth Reynolds has been a loving – and beloved – friend to the wild and wonderful denizens of the French Quarter in New Orleans. If you’ve ever visited her town, you might have seen her in the Quarter singing and playing with street bands, parading, and spreading good humor and support to everyone she knows.
Now it’s time for all of us to step up and support her as she faces hip replacement surgery for a condition that has brought her both terrible pain and financial stress.
Meredyth's physical struggle began with a broken leg resulting from a fall she took while looking after a colony of feral cats she rescued nine years ago. During her recovery, she realized that instead of decreasing, the pain in her leg and hip was growing more severe, eventually resulting in a pronounced limp. Finally, an orthopedic doctor informed her that she would have to undergo hip replacement surgery if she wanted to continue to be mobile. As the surgery date approaches, she is facing months of pain and extremely limited mobility during her recuperation..
Donations to Meredyth’s fund will help to cover her daily living expenses while she recovers from surgery and starts physical rehabilitation. They will also help with medical bills not covered by insurance thereby eliminating the worry of exhausting her modest savings.
Please make a donation of any size and send this appeal along to any friends who want to see Meredyth get her sparkle back and regain her her rightful place in the Big Parade.
I am a friend of Merydyth Reynolds and am hoping to help her raise money for her recuperation from hip replacement surgery.
