My name is Mohammed N. Abusharekh from Germany, I have made a campaign on behalf of Mervat. Here is her story:

My name is Mervat Maher Zaqout and I am a mother of three beautiful children — the youngest is just 10 months old. We once had a peaceful and comfortable life in Gaza. My children slept in warm beds, we had enough food, clean clothes, and the security of a roof over our heads. But all of that was taken from us.

The ongoing war in Gaza has turned our lives upside down. We lost our home, our belongings, and our livelihood. But even in the face of unimaginable loss, I haven’t lost hope.

Since the start of the conflict, my children and I have been displaced countless times, moving from one area to another in search of safety. Each time we move, we start from nothing. I was pregnant when we first fled, and I spent months living in makeshift tents made of cloth — tents that offer no protection from the blazing heat, bitter cold, or biting insects.

Now, we are still living in a tent. The heat is unbearable, and it has severely affected my children's health. They suffer from skin allergies and constant discomfort. My youngest child, just a baby, cannot even be breastfed — my body is too weak from lack of nutrition.

I am humbly asking for your support to help me reach three urgent goals:

1. Provide Nutrition for My Baby and Me

Due to extreme food shortages, I am unable to produce breast milk. Your help can provide the basic food and formula we both need to survive.

2. Secure Safe Shelter for My Children

We need to move from the tent into a small rented apartment where my children can find some relief from the harsh weather. Their health is deteriorating in the current conditions.

My dream is to eventually evacuate to a safer place and start again. Not for myself — but for my children’s future. I want to give them a life with dignity, safety, and hope.
