Help Merrick cover his mom's funeral expenses

With sadness, my friend, Merrick Hamer, lost his mother who had passed away on January 5, 2021, at the age of ninety-eight. Born Virginia Betty Davis, in Whittier, California, Merrick’s mother later married Ernest Joseph Hamer and gave birth to and helped to raise three children, Dianne Natalie (Aid), Merrick Rees Hamer, and Cynthia Jacqueline (Venard). In addition to raising her family, Virginia spent most of her years creatively composing music, drawing fanciful illustrations, and writing stories.  Her creativity vastly influenced her children.  Upon reflecting, Merrick offered these words in memory of his mother: 

“Virginia believed in things that are mere fanciful tales to most people, continuing to believe beyond the point where children stop believing.  I shall be ever grateful for this, since by a parental instinct for imagination, the tools to create were then placed in mine hands.  I thank Virginia Hamer for her legacy, her unwavering belief and love (which is the highest monument). One day I shall reunite with her and with other beloved ones who have thus passed-on. This I know because she has left me without doubt.”

I am aware that Merrick could use assistance in defraying the expenses associated with his mother’s death. Having known Merrick for many years, he always attends with his support, love and assistance to the distressed.  At this time, Merrick needs us, this is our chance to help Merrick during this difficult time.  I have, therefore, established this page as a fundraiser to help my worthy friend and brother during his time of need.  Financial donations would be appreciated and they will cover the funeral and burial expenses allowing Virginia to be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.  Yet not all will have the ability or means to donate monetarily.  Please consider sending a supportive message, which I know he will treasure and it will uplift the family.
