On Friday July 10th, 2020, our brother Merlin Macias got into a terrible mountain biking accident, which threw him over his handlebars head first. The impact broke his helmet and fractured his spine. With no one else on the trail, he dragged himself off the mountain and was later transported by ambulance to a trauma center where he was told he suffered a C5 compression fracture of his vertebrae. 


Merlin was placed in a full body brace and is recovering with his dear friends in Portland, who have opened up their home and are helping him with basic mobility. He will need to be immobile for the next three months to give his back the best chance of healing without invasive surgery. 


Because of this, Merlin will not be able to work and has no way of supporting himself financially during the long road to recovery. We are making this campaign to help raise the funds it will require to cover his basic living expenses and medical costs (especially critical pain medications) for at least the next 3 months.
