Help Merlin get the treatment he needs

On March 30th we took our boy Merlin, to our local vet where he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. They treated with antibiotics and pain medication. Merlin got better for a few days, but eventually he would slump back into not wanting to eat and throwing up what little he would nibble on. We took him back to our vet on April 6th  and they believed he was doing better but still very nausea from his pancreatitis episode. We left with medication for nausea and Merlin did okay for a few days.

He began eating less and less until he wouldn't eat anything on April 10th. Around mid-day we noticed our precious blue boy turn yellow. We immediately made a third appointment with our vet for the following day where they referred us to MedVet in New Orleans so that Merlin could get the help that he needed.

While Merlin has no official diagnosis as of yet, merlin is receiving iv fluids and GI assistance from Medvet and will be receiving an Ultrasound this afternoon to hopefully narrow down the cause.

The first two vet visits alone were $1,600 dollars.  [1,100 for the first hospitalization and 500 for his trip back to the vet] We are fortunate enough that we were able to make these payments without assistance.

Currently, Merlin is in care with Medvet. His care plan is in place with them. The low end estimates currently is 2,300. Which is the deposit we had to put down for them to take and treat him.

Merlin is in every sense of the phrase "The best boy". He is my Husband's and I's best friend. If you've met either one of us, you'll know how much our 4 legged friends mean to us. We hang on to the hope the we will be able to bring Merlin home and have many years left with him.

Any donations would go to Merlins Vetbills.

If you choose to leave something, even if it's just kind words know that my husband and I are greatful from the very deepest parts of our hearts. We just want our boy to come home. 20220412_120406570400349082836076.jpg
