Hi, my name is Kelly Sherman and I am fundraising for Merissa Lesson. Merissa went into the hospital on June 22,2021 to have a scheduled c-section. The good news is that baby Cooper was born and was very healthy. Unfortunately Merissa was not as lucky. Shortly after having the baby she went unresponsive and CPR was administered immediately. She was revived and stabilized. Her family was told that she had an amniotic fluid embolism that was extremely serious. She was life flighted to Riverside Hospital and put into intensive care. Tuesday evening she had a head scan and chest scan done. The head scan was good but the chest scan showed a blood clot in her heart. Wednesday morning a huge blood clot was removed. After the clot was removed she improved hour by hour. Luckily they were then able to remove her from the ventilator and she then started breathing on her own. On Thursday they had her sit up in a chair but she is still having a hard time talking and is very confused. Late Thursday night she got moved out of intensive care where she will now be there for a while. Merissa has quite a recovery ahead of her. No one knows how long it will take her to get back to work and with her owning her own business she will be missing out on a lot of work. This young women has a great husband that will be very busy with a toddler and a new born baby. I am hoping we can raise enough money so she does not have to worry about getting back to work.
