While out of town with family for Thanksgiving, Meredith fell ill and had to have an unexpected emergency surgery. She is recovering well, but as a result, she likely has to stay in Tennessee for a week before she is allowed to travel home.

This situation will greatly impact Meredith's family over the holidays, especially financially. There are some insurance difficulties, potential extra hotel cost, an inability to work for 6 weeks with no pay and no medical leave is available with her hourly teaching position.
