Help Meredith Beat Cancer!

Donation protected

At the age of 39, Meredith was diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer and had a radical hysterectomy. In April 2020 she underwent radiation 5 days a week with chemo 1 day a week as well. 6 weeks after she finished those treatments the scan showed an aggressive cancer in her abdomen, which seemingly grew while she was undergoing chemo and radiation. The treatment will be a cocktail of 3 strong drugs in 5 chemo treatments. They are so hard on the body that she can only have 1 every 3 weeks. In addition she has to go back the day after treatment for a very painful shot to force her joints to release white blood cells. They tell her the shot will be more painful each time. If these treatments do not work her Dr. said there will be nothing more they can do.  Her first treatment was the day before her 40th birthday.

Meredith has just turned 40 and has her entire life ahead of her. Let me tell you a little about my sister. She’s an amazing step mom to three teenage boys who adore her. Upon completion of her first battle with cancer, her boyfriend (reunited after being high school sweethearts) got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and make their family official. She of course said yes, but now all those plans are on hold. She’s the best Auntie M to my daughters and they adore her every action. She’s only gotten to see them twice since her diagnosis due to an over abundance of caution during Covid. Meredith works as a Employment Specialist for Citizens Advocates and has worked almost the entire duration of her illness as she carries the insurance. She and Chris are doing everything they can to keep their family going. But here is where we need your help.

Meredith’s insurance will only cover the cost of services in Plattsburgh. If the first three treatments don’t work, she has to go to a cancer specialist out of network. Their bills are already outrageous, but the cost of going to Roswell or Sloan Kettering will be too much for them to bear. We are asking for your help today, to help release some of the financial pressure Meredith and Chris are going through and help her live the rest of her life cancer free, with her amazing family around her.
