UPDATE…. hi it’s me Mercedes.

Hello-I’m sorry it’s been a bit since I’ve done an update. It’s a crazy time with lots going on. As most of you know, unfortunately my first round of chemo and immuno stopped working and the cancer spread. We have moved onto a phase 2 protocol. This protocol is very dangerous and has caused lots of unfortunate side effects. I have lost the use of one leg completely, and was going to be hospitalized, possibly permanently. But of course I refused

I am here for my children and that’s the only place I want to be. I am still hopeful and not giving up ❣️❣️

Unfortunately, the situation has caused us to have to get a ton of medical interventions for the house and for leaving the house. I have a chairlift, 2 rollators, medical recliner, wheelchair, electric wheelchair, handicap shower, pull bars, toilet risers,etc…. We were fortunate that some were donated

I also want to help advocate for handicap people. Now being one, I have realized how lopsided the world is and how many places are not handicap friendly!!! It’s a horribly sad situation that I hope to see rectified.

I have also decided to change up how I approach my life and handle my treatment. My new approach includes adding a holistic element.

I understand that this might not be for everyone, and I am not here to preach!!! People have to do what is right for them. But I am hoping that this will inspire and help others to think about the possibility of combining the two. This new approach has me very connected to the Lord and his saints. I wake up every day thankful and give all control to them. This gives me the opportunity to focus on my day and know that everything will be handled as it should be. Then I continue through my day eating an abundance of raw fruits and vegetables, and I take several powder supplements in a smoothie form and juice to clear out my body and all of the toxins from the protocol. This is not something that medical agrees with, they would rather me do big Pharma. This is not a politics thing… this is what my body needed❣️❣️❣️ I felt sick, crazy, like I was dying. I don’t want to be on narcotics all doped up, drooling on myself. I don’t want to go to my children’s functions not being able to concentrate and actually enjoy the events.

I have been doing this new approach for approximately six weeks and I feel like a whole different person. I was able to take our yearly family trip that my parents plan with some precautions and protocols. This was very difficult at times due to all of my disabilities, but it was amazing and beautiful with so many blessings. Now that I am home, I had all my tests to check my numbers, and they are shocked at my results. My numbers and my liver are better than they’ve been in months and months. Wonder why that is ?????

Going holistic also requires you to set goals …this part is my favorite♥️ If you’re mind tells your body to do something your body WILL follow❣️❣️ So you need to make daily goals, weekly goals, and then outrageous goals for the future.

This I have done … I look forward to and am grateful for every day and every week. I make sure I have something to look forward to. My long-term goal is that I am still here when all three boys graduate high school and maybe even get to see a little college fun??? But here’s the bottom line… I would never be able to have the strength to do this or to navigate this journey without my amazing family, dragonflies, coworkers, friends, friends that have become family, and my angels on earth. From the bottom of our hearts, we are immensely grateful always. I truly hope you can feel our gratitude and all of our love❣️- Mercedes and the boys
