Hi everyone, I come to you today asking for help for one of our local teen athletes, Jared Fong. Jared is an amazing kid. He is a 17-year-old high school junior, a football player, and a varsity competitive cheerleader.
This summer, he suffered a knee injury, or so we thought. After months of doctor's visits and physical therapy, Jared finally got to see a specialist who sent him directly to Stanford. On December 11th, we got the devastating news that Jared has osteosarcoma (bone cancer). We are currently awaiting results to know the exact type. Jared will be starting chemo and eventually will need surgery to remove the tumor on his knee.
This is a child who was trying his best to get an athletic scholarship to get his future started, and now he’s heartbroken that his path has changed. This is the beginning of a long journey. As Jared’s family is from Merced, the drive to and from Stanford, the hospital stays, the time off work, and food are all causing a financial hardship that we would love our community, family, and friends to help with. If you are not able to give a monetary contribution, please share and keep Jared and his entire family in prayer! Thank you in advance for your assistance.
