Help Mendo Get the Care He Needs

If you've been to Innjoy Logan Square anytime in the past half-decade, you probably know Mendo and Marcus. Marcus found Mendo as a stray while he was living in California, and they've been inseparable ever since. Mendo is one of the loveliest dogs I've ever met; he's sweet, gentle, playful, generous with kisses, and a wonderful companion. For the most part, Mendo has lived a happy, healthy life--up until now.

 

Sometime last year, Marcus noticed a bump growing above Mendo's right eye. What started as a seemingly painless lump has grown into a sizable issue that causes Mendo discomfort at the best of times, and significant pain at the worst of times. After several scary incidents and emergency vet visits, none of the vets he has seen have figured out what's going on with this growth, and were having issues even getting a simple biopsy.

 

Just like with humans, healthcare is often unaffordable and inaccessible for animals. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent on vet visits have brought Marcus and Mendo no closer to understanding what's going on, or how to treat it. Fortunately, Mendo has an upcoming procedure to attempt to remove the growth on his face and begin to diagnose the underlying issue. (Below is an estimate for his initial procedure--and it will likely be one of several.) But they need our help to cover the costs.

 

I can say with confidence that I know Mendo has touched the hearts of many of us who would like to help. So I'm putting this together to ensure our sweet boy can get the care he needs and be healthy and happy again. Any little bit helps, and is appreciated more than you know. We will continue to update this as we learn more about Mendo's condition.
