Help Mendie Fight Stage IV(4) Cancer

Donation protected
In short: Our 53-year-old mom of 6, grandmother of 5, and great-grandmother of 1 (with a second on the way to be born in the next few days/week) is fighting for her life. Mendie Jenkins was recently diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer that has metastasized to the liver. Those that know Mendie know that she loves her family and would do anything for her grandkids. She is always willing to help those around her, in the past took over as CubMaster for the Boy Scouts, has picked up running to better herself/heath and is a true Disney fan. As well as a diehard Ga Bulldogs fan.
We are asking our family, friends, and the community (irl and virtual) for help.

All donations will go towards:

  • Medical expenses, including treatment not covered by insurance
  • Living expenses such as mortgage, utilities, and food since she is no longer able to work and was the breadwinner of the family.

All donations will go to Mendie’s daughter Christy who has stepped up to navigate paying all bills so that Mendie does not have to stress about meeting due dates. This way she can spend all her focus on this fight!

In long:

February 2025, right before her 53rd birthday, Mendie became sick to her stomach and tired. She assumed it was a possible stomach ulcer as our Father has previously had them and described them in a similar fashion. On Feb 28th, just two days after her birthday Mendie went to an Urgent Care to see what was wrong. This is where her battle began. Through blood work and multiple imaging studies it was determined that she had indications of possible cancer with in her stomach as well as her liver. The Oncologist that she was referred to got her in to see him ASAP and it was confirmed via biopsies to be stomach cancer with mets to the liver. From start of stomach pains to diagnoses it took around a month. One month to completely change her life and the lives of everyone that knows her. Though this is not a diagnosis that anyone wants to hear, Mendie is determined to fight. She had her port placed two weeks ago and her first round of chemo this past Tuesday, the second day after chemo seemed to really take a toll though she continues to stay in good spirits. During this time frame she was also diagnosed with a blood clot in her left leg that began to swell, the swelling has since gone down and is almost back to normal. Next week she will go to follow up doctor visits and additional blood work, then repeat the cycle.

Mendie is facing the toughest battle of her life and now more than ever could use the help and strength of her family, friends and community. Please consider donating to help cover her medical and living expenses and share this post to spread the word and help us reach as many people as possible. Every bit counts!! Let's come together to show her, she is not in this fight alone.

Please keep Mendie in your thoughts and prayers while she navigates this new journey.
