Help Mend Birdie’s Broken Leg!
Donation protected
Recently, we had this little kitten (now named Birdie) literally FALL into our lives. On a late Tuesday night several weeks ago, a panicked meow alerted me, my wife, and our 3-year-old to this tiny girl hobbling along the perimeter wall beneath our row of Italian cypresses. She was clearly too injured to get herself back up, and there were no signs of mama anywhere. I was able to rescue her from high in a cypress tree the following morning. We took her to the vet and learned she had a broken back leg, no chip, and had likely been surviving with the break for a couple of weeks.
We want to provide Birdie with the highest quality of life possible, so we're asking for help with the cost of surgery to fix the break. We're a small family with two cats (now three) and a second kid on the way. We believe in being responsible stewards of the Earth and all its inhabitants, especially when the Universe brings one so decisively into our lives. Whether or not we meet our goal, little Birdie will have a loving forever home with us.
Surgery/vet recovery costs are $6,000 with a very high chance of success.
The break occurred at the knee and forced the bones into misalignment. They were beginning to fuse side-by-side, leading to amputation and poor quality of life.
Any amount you can contribute would be a blessing to our growing family.
If you cannot contribute financially, please help by sharing our fundraiser far and wide!
