Hi my name is Lisa watson, I have been suffering with heart failure for many years and it has reached the point of needing a heart transplant! I need to move from Maui to Oahu desperately especially now with the fires that have devastated my island! As I cannot find available apartments as they are obviously being rented right away, but I also need to be near my heart transplant team on oahu. Therefore I’m going to Need help with temporary shelter as well as rent and moving our items and car from Maui to Oahu so I can find available apartments!

Fortunately insurance is paying an enormous amount of the medical part but the move is so complicated now with being displaced by the fires as so many are also moving to Oahu so apartment’s are hard to find there too. 

I am so very grateful and blessed to be able to be on this list and receiving the gift of life from someone who is so wonderful to donate their organs in the tragic event of their death. To them and their families me and family are eternally grateful!! I am looking forward to spending years more to be with my children and to be able to see and be active in my grandchildren’s lives as they grow up with grandma!! In the meantime I am desperately asking for help during this difficult time.

Part of my need to move to Oahu is I just received an LVAD (a pump attached to my heart) that will help keep my heart going until I can get a heart. but with this I will need the move to to Oahu (where the specialty heart team is) so if I have any complications I won’t be on another island to get emergency help! Unfortunately that is adding moving expenses to my list of monetary necessities. Especially now since the fires have devastated my island there is no way I can move back to Maui.
