Help Melonie Stay Afloat During Job Search

Hi everyone,

I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Melonie Saunders, who is going through an incredibly difficult time right now.

She was recently laid off without any warning and, even worse, was not given any severance pay. Like many people, she’s been living paycheck to paycheck—and missing even one paycheck has had a serious ripple effect on her life.

To make matters even harder, Melonie is a single mom who has been supporting her child through out-of-state college for the past year with very little help from others. She’s done everything she can to stay on top of her responsibilities, but this sudden loss of income has put her at serious risk.

Right now, she’s in danger of losing her apartment and her car. She’s also behind on essential bills like her phone and electric, and struggling to cover gas and other basic necessities.

We’re hoping to raise $2,500 to help cover:

Rent: $1,200

Car payment: $400

Phone bill: $300

Electric bill: $150

Gas and other essentials: $450

Melonie has been actively interviewing and is hopeful to start working again soon. This fundraiser is just to help bridge the gap and prevent her from falling through the cracks during this tough transition.

This isn’t easy for her to ask, so I’m asking for her: If you’re in a position to help, even a little, it would mean the world. Every bit will go directly toward helping Melonie stay afloat while she gets back on her feet.
