Melody Ann Allen is a loving grandmother, treasured teacher, and beloved friend to many. The generosity, love, and unrelenting kindness she’s shown her community over the years has been a marvel. Now, she is the one who needs our help.
Melody was in a severe car accident involving a drunk driver some 40 years ago, the result of which required extensive facial and reconstructive surgery. Though her strength and resilience have carried her 10-15 years beyond the surgeons’ expectations for longevity, she now experiences debilitating pain and persistent infection from the wounds she sustained during the collision and subsequent procedures.
With her boundless compassion, she continues to reach out to those in need during these difficult times while also supporting her grandson, 17, who has lived with her since he was 6 years old. She has worked tirelessly, despite the chronic pain, taking on many different jobs including truck driver, Craft Warehouse Associate, and Reiki Practitioner/Teacher. The COVID-19 pandemic has further restricted her ability to raise funds for herself, and she currently drives for Uber and Lyft to make ends meet.
We are asking for your help to raise $5,000 to fund the essential tooth and mouth repair Melody needs in order to experience some relief from the intolerable pain and disability she has endured.
