Hello, my name is Melody, and I’m reaching out for help during a difficult time.
Currently, I’m staying at a homeless shelter, working hard to rebuild my life. For the last two months, I’ve been walking a mile and a half to and from work every day after my 10-hour shifts, just to save enough for a down payment on a car. After months of struggle, I finally got a car, but just a week ago, I was wrongfully terminated from my job. Now, I’m facing the loss of everything I’ve worked so hard for: my car, my insurance, and my phone.
I have until January 6th to come up with $800, or I will lose my car, my only means of getting to work. This is especially devastating because I have two kids who I haven’t seen in three months. They are depending on me to get out of the shelter, so I can continue my scheduled visitations. Unfortunately, their custodial parent withholds them from me whenever they can, and it’s a constant struggle to stay connected.
Despite these setbacks, I have two promising job opportunities lined up, but they won’t start until after the holidays. This means I have no way to earn enough money in time to save my car and keep my life moving forward. The next month feels like a make-or-break moment for me.
I’m so close to turning my life around, but I need a little help to get through the next month. Any contribution will make a world of difference in helping me hold onto my car, my job prospects, and the chance to see my kids during the holidays. If possible, I would love to buy them Christmas presents as well, to show them I’m doing everything I can to get back on my feet.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.
