Our family is asking for support for my Aunt Melodie Hughes, who was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer.
This diagnosis has been heartbreaking for our entire family. Glioblastoma grows quickly and is extremely difficult to treat. Melodie will begin six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy in hopes of slowing the progression of the tumor. With treatment, doctors believe she may have around two more years. Without treatment, the tumor will likely return quickly and her time could be six months or less.
Melodie is facing an incredibly difficult road ahead — physically, emotionally, and financially. Between ongoing treatments, medical visits, medications, travel, and future end-of-life expenses, the costs will continue to grow over the coming months.
Anyone who knows Melodie knows how kind, strong, and loving she is. She has always been someone who shows up for others, and now our family is hoping we can show up for her.
If you are able to donate, any amount will help ease the financial burden so Melodie and our family can focus on what truly matters right now — time together, comfort, and care during this incredibly difficult journey.
If you are not able to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping Melodie in your thoughts and prayers. Your support, love, and encouragement mean more than words can express.
Thank you for standing with our family and for helping support Melodie during this time. ❤️
