Melo has been my loyal companion and emotional support through some of the hardest moments in my life, especially when my ex passed away in 2011. He had such a firecracker personality—you couldn’t even walk out the door without him barking to let you know he was there. Even before I knew what a support dog was, Melo was always by my side, bringing comfort and love when I needed it most.

Recently, Melo became very ill. I just came from the vet and learned that there is no hope in his situation. He has severely declined, suffering from chronic kidney failure. I’ve tried everything I could to help him, but now he’s suffering and it’s clear that the kindest thing I can do is help him find peace. It breaks my heart to see him in pain, and I want to make sure his final moments are filled with love and dignity. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward euthanasia and cremation services, so Melo won’t have to suffer any longer and I can say goodbye in the most caring way possible.
