Help Mellissa's Family Celebrate Her Life Together in GA

My name is Kity Fewlass Helmer, AKA Katie. I am attempting to raise funds to help offset the financial burdens on my brother-in-law and my nieces and nephews after the death of my sister!

My sister Mellissa passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 27, 2025, due to complications with double pneumonia and cardiac arrest.

Mellissa was a mother of seven and grandmother to four. She was creative, caring, and an amazing mum and sister! Mellissa loved nature, crafting, music, and taking care of children!

Mellissa never wanted a funeral, but I know she wanted to be cremated and brought home to her kids and partner Doug in Savannah, GA.

Her youngest two children are with Doug (their father), while her other children live in TX, CA, and Australia.

It would be a huge blessing to be able to afford for our family to hold a small celebration of Mellissa's life in GA and have, at minimum, her kids that live in the US able to be there!

All donations to this fundraiser will assist in financing her cremation, memorial celebration, and any extra will be given to care for her youngest two children.
