Hello, my name is Jessica, and I'm asking for donations to assist in my dearly loved sister, Melissa's fight against breast cancer.

On April 13th, Melissa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of invasive ductal carcinoma. This fundraiser is intended to ease the financial burden of travel, lost income, and living expenses while she is undergoing treatment.

After finding a suspicious lump in March, Melissa immediately took steps to have it checked by her doctor. Diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies followed. On April 13th, she got the news no one wants to hear. “You have cancer.”

The days since have been a whirlwind of appointments, exams, and phone calls… tearful conversations and sleepless nights.

Due to the number of appointments and the physical restrictions immediately after the biopsy was performed, she has been unable to work for several weeks - a major financial setback for someone working in a commission only position.

Those who know her, know that Melissa is not the best at asking for help, or putting herself first. She often stays late or works on her scheduled days off - just to make sure her clients are taken care of. As passionate as she is about her work, her friends and family are the center of her world. Worrying about her ability to cover her medical expenses AND provide for her children is weighing heavily on her mind and heart.

Cancer is a daunting opponent, and you can’t afford distractions when you’re in a fight for your life.
