I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my sister, Melissa Shanks. Her husband, Nathan Shanks, is currently in hospice care after a long and difficult battle with a terminal illness. He spent five weeks in the hospital—three of those weeks in Nebraska—far from home and family.

Melissa has been by Nathan’s side every step of the way, incurring significant expenses for lodging, travel, and meals while living out of state. With hospital bills piling up and funeral costs on the horizon, I’m hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden she now faces.
