At the time, she was a dedicated RN at Arnold Hospital, preparing to take her one-year-old to daycare before work, while her husband was on shift as a firefighter. The severity of her condition became clear quickly, and she was flown to a specialized hospital for urgent care. While recovering, Melissa faced another devastating setback—a second massive stroke that further impacted her right side, affecting her arm, leg, and speech.

Since those life-altering days, Melissa has shown incredible determination. She has spent years in therapy, working tirelessly to regain her strength, mobility, and independence.
