Help Melissa & Sky Land on Their Feet

Donation protected

Hello fellow friends, family, and acquaintances of the bold & beautiful Melissa Hudson and her handsome, bright son Skylar. I’m sure some of you may know pieces of the hidden horror of domestic violence that they have survived over the last 8 years. It breaks my heart typing this, knowing that there is still so much to their story that they will need to keep close to their hearts as they heal and attempt to rebuild. On Monday, June 14th, the soon-to-be ex husband broke into the family home that they once shared in attempt to have the last word and to fully evict Melissa and their son. Thankfully, he is back behind bars for the time being (far for the first time). His family made their eviction notice clear as day in the days that followed. This is a house that Melissa has taken impeccable care of, on her own, it’s been her pride and joy. This devastating decision on her in-laws behalf comes just after Melissa has lost her job,  just trying to do her best to juggle being a single mother during an unforgiving pandemic. There are too many pieces of this nightmare to puzzle together here, but I just want to reiterate that she needs our help. That sweet, intelligent, goofy, handsome boy needs our help too.

We all know Melissa as the walking ray of sunshine that she is. But not even the sun can shine every day. And today, she needs us to show up to light the way for her little family. She was prepared to find shelters for their beloved family dog, Marley, and take her son to a women’s shelter with her. Please help me to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Right now, she could really benefit from man power. She is packing a 3-level house up all on her own, not knowing if she’ll even have a place to store it all or any means to transport it. She is extremely short on funds too. She has been offered a couch for her and Skylar to crash on in Lyons,  which I know she’s beyond grateful for. Most of all, she needs our love.

If you’re in a position to help with anything from emotional support, moving, storage, or money- please know that we will all be forever grateful. Melissa and Skylar deserve every bit of the love we can collectively offer them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
