Hi, my name is Melissa. I am a 24-year-old mother currently navigating an active family court case involving custody and legal matters for my young child.

I am a full-time caregiver to my toddler, and my primary focus has always been providing stability, consistency, and a safe environment for him. Recently, I had to relocate due to financial hardship and lack of local support, which created additional legal and financial challenges during an already difficult time.

At this moment, I am self-represented in court while facing a complex legal process that requires proper legal guidance. Managing court filings, hearings, and legal procedures alone — while caring for a young child — has been overwhelming both emotionally and financially.

My only goal is to ensure that my child’s well-being, stability, and best interests are properly represented and protected through the legal process.

Unfortunately, family law representation in California is extremely expensive, and I am currently unable to afford the retainer fees required to hire a qualified attorney in time for upcoming legal proceedings.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Court-related legal expenses

• Legal consultations and case preparation

I am not seeking anything beyond fair legal representation and the ability to responsibly navigate the court system. Having professional legal support would allow me to focus on maintaining stability for my child during this critical time.
