Hey so my cam BUSTED in half while shooting NYC history at a Knicks watch party near MSG. Ofc I'm cool with being one of the many sacrifices made for that win, but now that bus fires have died down and cheeks aren't clapping as loud, it's time to figure out my next steps.

STORYTIME

As most of you know, I live VERY simply lol and have shot on the same 8 year old camera. It saved my ass 2 years ago when I had to escape my last business (sports massage) because of constant harassment. Overnight, I went from 17 years in practice to picking up my old cam and tryna make it work for me.

I hit the ground running in a saturated market, banking on my biz knowledge and early love of photography/lighting. I started filming comedy shows/sketches/shorts, then expanded to nightlife/portraits. As of a few months ago I'm now booking insane dream gigs with clients I never thought I'd get to work with.

TIMING

My life has completely changed in the last few months, so this couldn't have come at a worse moment, but I'm hopeful it's all for the best.

I know times are tough for most of us these days, so I feel strange making this at all, but I'm hoping to keep the few gigs I have coming up without renting gear which could keep me in the hole for years.

REPLACEMENT GEAR

My goal is to replace my Sony A7iii and 18-200m lens with a kit that is actually comparable to what my peers work with. I often rent cinema cams to keep up on bigger video/lowlight gigs, so it would be incredible if my gear was on par with my skill level now that it's finally being recognized.

I'm sticking with Sony so that I don't have to replace other accessories like batteries, cages, mics etc to keep replacement costs low.
