I’ve been living in Seattle since 1994, lived a brief life abroad in Europe, and returned to Seattle in 2004. Over these past decades I’ve made many friends, close bonds and continue to. Throughout the years, I have shown up for community, friends and strangers in need. While supporting others in need—never expecting anything in return. Now, I find myself in a position where I need to ask for help from my community, which isn’t easy for me to say, "I need help!"
It’s been a challenging couple of months, both physically and emotionally due to illness and injury. I had covid in April which set me back a couple weeks, then suffered a fall that resulted in three fractured ribs the day after my birthday. At this time the fall was three weeks ago and I am at times in discomfort as my body heals. Recovering from both has meant lost income, and on Friday my car broke down. (My car is how I access my clients. Repair costs will be made aware on Monday or Tuesday and I'll update here.) Currently using the bus to navigate. These three incidents have come at a time when my partner Blake and I are preparing to move to California with our kitties, seeking a quieter, slow paced life and to be closer to family.
Due to illness I lost income, now due to injury I am losing income. I’m unable to lift, bend, kneel, squat, or carry anything over three pounds. I have placed some clients I support on pause, or am having to turn down clients from April-July which is impacting my savings towards the move. Before injury I was planning to pack and donate items for the move, but now cannot do tasks. My physician foresees my full recovery being in early August. Emotionally, these past couple months have been taxing, and I hope to share quality time with friends as I heal and before we move.
Your donations will help me recoup lost income, afford acupuncture and care for recovery, and cover automotive repairs (I already spent several thousand dollars on the car in January with a similar malfunction). Your support will also help make up the funds that were going toward the move, and any help with packing would mean the world to me. I’m grateful for any assistance—physical or financial—that can help ease the hardship my family and I are facing as we start this new chapter.
I am grateful for you to take the time to read my call for help. I fully understand there are so many others in more dire situations. I look forward to being healed of broken bones and back to being in community helping others again.❤️
⭐️If you would like to help with packing, donation runs of items we're getting rid of, or have boxes to share, or when it comes time to our moving day at the end of July can move boxes or furniture, or simply want to send words of encouragement
please send me a message. If you can physically help, please add subject line: "I want to help!" and I'll add you to an email blast about the moving project and you can plug in dates and times you are available and how you'd like to assist.
Thank you community! I value your support!
