Help Melissa recover from a stroke on her way to Ireland:
On what was meant to be a routine business trip from Pittsburgh to Ireland, my sweetheart, Melissa Thomas, suffered a devastating stroke on the left side of her brain mid-flight. The plane landed in London and thanks to emergency intervention, Melissa underwent life-saving surgery at Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith, London, UK.
By the grace of God and the skill of her medical team, she is alive — but her recovery will be long and difficult. She currently has weakness on her right side and faces months of therapy, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.
As you can imagine, the suddenness of this tragedy has turned our lives upside down. In order to stay by Melissa’s side during her recovery, we urgently need to:
• Rent a home near the hospital in London for 1–2 months while she stabilizes.
• Cover medical bills and ongoing treatment costs not fully insured.
• Pay for travel expenses back and forth to the USA so I can manage both our home affairs and support her abroad.
• Prepare for therapy and long-term care Melissa will need once she is strong enough to return home.
Melissa is a beautiful soul — full of kindness, laughter, and love. Anyone who knows her will tell you she lights up every room she walks into. Now, in this time of crisis, we are asking for your help to give her the best chance at recovery and a return to the life she so deeply deserves.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Melissa’s care and the costs of keeping us together through this fight. If you are unable to give, your prayers, encouragement, and sharing of this campaign mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude,
