Help Melissa Overcome Cancer and Heal
Donation protected
Seven months after our mom’s passing, the day before my sister turned 50, we got the most unexpected devastating news that my sister Melissa has uterine cancer. She was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago with her leg swollen to more than double its normal size. They found a large blood clot and two smaller blood clots in her lungs. After numerous scans, it was determined she needed a hysterectomy as well. Her first surgery was to put a filter to stop any blood clots from traveling during the hysterectomy. While performing her 2nd surgery, the hysterectomy, the doctor found cancer in the lining of her uterus. After that, a surgery to remove the blood clot was performed.
When we first got the cancer diagnosis, we were told it was very aggressive, but yesterday we were told that the cancer isn’t aggressive. They believe they got it all and they don’t think it spread, thankfully. She’ll need radiation treatment and possibly chemotherapy after that. Melissa has a long road ahead, but through all of this, she has been surrounded with so much love and prayers from family and friends, and I know they will continue to be there for her and the rest of our family.
