My name is Melissa, and I’m reaching out because I need a little help to take the next step in my life. I’ve found a two-bedroom apartment just a few miles away from where I live now, but it’s much closer to friends who can check on me and lend a hand when I need it. Living alone can be tough when you are ill and having a support system nearby means everything. The last 4 years have been horrific and the things I’ve seen will never go away in my mind and now thinking things were looking up I’ve become ill after having both wrist/hands shattered. 5 surgeries later the infection in my body is still there. The opportunity came up when I found a landlord who accepts my voucher, but the security deposit is more than I can manage on my own. I want to move forward and make this place my new home, but I can’t do it without some help. Being closer to friends will not only give me peace of mind, but it will also let me work in my friend’s boutique, handling the bookkeeping, computer work, and taxes. This move would help me stay independent and connected to the people who care about me.
