In the dark morning hours of January 22, Jameson “Jamie” Hills was found unresponsive by his mother Melissa Mitchell.

Jamie was born October 23, 2023.

His family is in shock. The friends who loved him so deeply are in shock. Somehow, the unthinkable has happened, and we now as a community need to band together to help Mel and Rich continue on for Charlotte, Richie, and Evelyn.

Over the next few days and weeks we are asking for what feels like the impossible. We need to grant this family that is so loved by everyone the gift of security. We need to somehow give them time. Time to grieve. Time to hold each other close. Time to love. Time to seek out answers.

Time is hard to gift, so we will ask for security. We ask for help for Mel, who will never ask for it herself. They need the security of final expenses not being chosen over new glasses for Evelyn. They need the security of knowing there will always be gas in the car to bring Richie to appointments. They need the security of heat in their home so they can hold each other close, and food in their fridge for when their appetite does come back.
