Help Melissa Martucci Train for LA2028

Hello! My name is Melissa Martucci and I am an aspiring cycling track sprinter with eyes set on the LA2028 Olympics.

Recently I was selected by USA Cycling's talent identification program to advance to the US Sprint pool's integration phase. Starting in January, I will officially begin training under the direct supervision of USA cycling coaching staff. Starting in January, I will become a full-time athlete, training 6 days a week, both at the gym and at the Carson Velo Sports Center.

In order to make this dream become a reality, I must put a pause on my teaching career of 11 years. I will go on an unpaid leave of absence after this semester in order to start my rigorous training block in January. This endeavor both excites and terrifies me, because I am the breadwinner and main contributor to my family's finances. I am humbly asking my friends, fellow cyclists, family, and community at large for any contributions as I transition to my role as a full-time athlete. While I am currently seeking flexible employment opportunities that will align with my training schedule, your contributions will temporarily help me through the first months of the program until my life stabilizes.

If you have watched me grow as a cyclist over the past seven years, you will know that this achievement means the world to me. I have stood at the top of fixed gear RedBull Podiums, and even competed in Berlin, and all of my trainings and experience have led me to this final endeavor.

Ever since I was a small child, I had the dream of one day having a shot at the Olympics. I have spent countless hours obsessing over this goal, doing everything I can to make it as far as this. If I do not find the financial means to continue, this dream will abruptly come to an end. But with the help of the community, and those that believe in me, I will be able to take another step closer to the Olympic dream.
