Help Melissa Hughes: Surgery and Recovery

Dear friends and colleagues,

Many of you know that our cherished Melissa Hughes (Mel) has been facing a rare genetic condition called cavernous malformation, or CavMal. She has previously had neurosurgery for bleeding, but, regrettably, it has returned. This necessitates another craniotomy to remove the recent bleed and the cavernoma regrowth. Melissa is a devoted mother of two, a loving wife, and a wonderful aide to our elementary school children. This is a significant expense for any family to face unexpectedly. I'd like to help cover their costs: flights, accommodation for Cameron, meals, rental car, etc. Her husband Cameron will be out of work while he's away with Melissa, and unfortunately, many companies don't compensate for family emergencies. Melissa will be under the care of her excellent doctor at Stanford Hospital. Please keep the Hughes family in your thoughts and prayers; they are a precious family and need our support now and in the coming days. We have faith that God is in control of this surgery.
