Hi, I’m Melissa—a small business owner and ultrasound technician living with a rare genetic bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). This condition causes my bones to break easily. I’ve had 39 fractures in 38 years, and doctors say I may face up to 100 in my lifetime.
Recently, I suffered three fractures in just six months, most recently a severe break in my lower right leg. It required emergency surgery, and I’m now facing 2–3 more months of recovery. During this time, I’ve been unable to work, and the financial strain is overwhelming.
In 2016, I started my business, Luna Ultrasound, and it’s been my passion ever since. I’ve had the privilege of providing thousands of expecting parents with a first glimpse of their babies—a job that brings so much joy to my heart. I’ve worked hard to build this dream, and I’m doing everything I can to hold onto it through this tough season. But now, I need help.
Your support will help with:
-Ongoing medical expenses from surgery and treatment
-Basic living costs during recovery
-Keeping my business afloat while I’m unable to work
If you're able to donate, I can’t thank you enough. If you’re not in a place to give right now, sharing this page or recommending my business to expectant families in the Orange County area would still mean the world.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness and support—no matter the form—are deeply appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
Melissa
