In the few weeks prior to another major reconstruction surgery (#16) for breast cancer, Melissa is facing unimaginable tribulations.

June 1 her husband asked her for a divorce, after spending 12 years together. Their marriage wasn’t perfect, but this was an unexpected shock.

Two weeks later on June 13th her brother tragically passed away, which was another devastating loss when she was still just beginning to process the initial grief of losing her marriage and the life they had built together.

Compound all of that with learning of the underlying reason for the abrupt end to her marriage and Melissa is now in shock. She is struggling mentally, emotionally, and financially trying to figure everything out in the next few months.

She’s lost a lot of her support system for her post op care, as well as any sort of financial support from her ex.

Being self employed and not having any income during a lengthy 6-8 week recovery, plus having to cover a hefty copay for surgery and also having to begin a painful and expensive divorce while she is recovering….It’s too much for one person to handle.

Melissa needs time to heal with a lot of continued therapy, and she needs to focus on recovery from her surgery as well. Anyone who knows Melissa, knows she is a giver and always helps out. She is always too proud to ask for help, but so many people are asking how they can support her during this time.

She has finally agreed to let me start this campaign for her to help ease some of the financial burden that she will face with all that is coming her way in the next 3-4 months.

No amount is too small and so many prayers are needed for Melissa as she navigates some very rough seas ahead.
