On her 47th birthday, our beloved midwife and friend Melissa Gaspar of Gentle Beginnings Family Birth Center had a biopsy that confirmed she has invasive ductal carcinoma - breast cancer. Following a whirlwind two weeks of appointments and testing, she is scheduled for surgery on Thursday November 19th.

Melissa and her HUGE heart have cared for mamas and babies in our community as a dedicated, committed midwife for many years. Now, there will be numerous medical expenses along her journey to crush cancer. (Just last week's PET scan is estimated to cost $9,000).

Please, let us (her friends, patients, and midwife community) come together to contribute what we can to alleviate some financial stress for Melissa so she can focus on her health and get back to baby catching!
