My life changed dramatically in January 2022 when I first contracted Covid. What followed was a relentless series of health challenges—Covid pneumonia, long Covid, and pneumonia two more times. These infections triggered eosinophilic asthma, primary immunodeficiency, and Ehlers Danlos, making it difficult to breathe and requiring years of high-dose prednisone. Despite treatment, I continued to struggle with severe coughing and respiratory issues. In January 2023, I caught Covid again, which led to another bout of pneumonia, increased my need for prednisone, and worsened my oxygen levels. CT scans revealed ground glass opacity in my lungs, and after several upper respiratory infections, I was hospitalized for five days with excruciating lung pain. I came home on oxygen and have needed it constantly ever since.
Unfortunately, my health continued to decline. I caught Covid a third time in April 2024, which flared up all my existing conditions. Aggressive prednisone use led to cataracts, requiring surgeries in July 2024. In December 2024, I suffered another round of pneumonia and a concussion, resulting in a month-long headache. In March 2025, I shattered my ankle, dislocated it, and damaged the soft tissues, requiring multiple surgeries. Additional complications included hepatic adenomas, MCAS, dysautonomia, and avascular necrosis in my knee. I faced more hospitalizations, another concussion, and a fourth Covid infection in December 2025. Most recently, I developed serotonin syndrome and was diagnosed with Tracheabronchomalacia, causing daily oxygen desaturations into the 70s and 80s.
My family and I have spent everything we have just to keep me alive. I am unable to work, and my parents are supporting me completely. The financial burden has left us with nothing for even the essentials. Any help you can provide will make all the difference in the world.
