Melissa Walters is a dear friend and fellow horse enthusiast. Her sweet young mare, Journey, recently suffered an unknown injury affecting her spinal cord which has led to ongoing complications with her left eye and overall motor coordination. While Journey has been showing neurological improvement, the damage to her eye is irreparable. Today, Journey is having her left eye removed at Hagyard. While I don’t want to share too much personal information, I will say that Melissa has recently had to step down from her full time position due to her own medical “stuff”. Anyone who knows Melissa knows that she takes incredible care of her pets. She pours her heart and soul into caring for them. She will not ask for financial assistance for herself and I did not seek approval for this fund raiser. I can attest that anything that you are able to contribute towards Journey’s past and ongoing medical care will be greatly appreciated and put to the best of use. Thank you!!
