So, this is pretty much the top of the list of Things I Never Wanted To Do, but here we are. Hi, I'm Melissa. My husband, Mike, and I are in a seriously tight spot right now and need some help. Long story short, the month of June and the mortgage payment are rapidly approaching and we are out of money. Completely. His union hasn't had any work for him since last fall and after a couple of unexpected expenses over the winter and early spring, all of our reserves are tapped. If all goes well, he'll be back out on a job site within a month or two, but that doesn't help right now. (Union rules make it next to impossible for him to go work elsewhere.) I'm disabled, which heavily limits what I can even consider doing for work, but am trying to find something I can do to bring in some money to cover the bills since I'm not currently considered "sick enough" to qualify for any disability aid.

In the meantime, here I am, asking for help making sure we and our three cats (pictured above) don't lose our home. I'll be honest, having been homeless before and am terrified of the possibility of losing my home again. This fundraiser is for what we need to get through the month of June (mortgage, car payments, homeowners insurance, etc...food is being covered by SNAP and years of experience Cooking While Poor) after which the financial situation will have cleared up and we won't have to do this again for July.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
