Help Melissa & Wes Buy Long-Standing Thrift Shop

For the past decade, we have owned and operated a vacation rental housekeeping company. But since the COVID-19 outbreak, our tourism-based business has suffered. Instead of asking our friends and family for a fish, we're asking for a fishing pole. 

 It has always been my dream to own a consignment shop, and as it happens, the oldest one in town is now for sale. Second Time Around has been in business for 38 years.

We're throwing everything we have behind making a run at becoming the new owners, and we're so close. We need your help carrying on the legacy of providing affordable shopping in downtown Durango with this beloved consignment boutique. We're were only $9k short!!!! Now we've changed it to $4k, for a few reasons.   

Our original amount was meant to cover:

"The first $2000 will go toward the purchase of the inventory. The next $2500  is for a deposit to take over the lease. The next $2500 is for the first month's rent. The last $2000 will be used to transfer utilities and for operating expenses through the first few weeks."

Wes scored a side job that will start paying a little in June, which will help cover our operating expenses for a while. So we felt we no longer needed to raise the final $2k. Then we found a new location, where the deposit is $1k less and we may be able to skip the first month of rent. 

If we can hit just $4k, we will have the money to secure the space, which is move-in ready, and get all the inventory displayed in time for June. We will make sure the shop is socially responsible and safe when we open. 

Your support during this time of such a major transition in our life would mean the world to us. It would give us the chance to start a new chapter, and pivot from a worsening financial situation.
