Help My Brother Francisco Fight for His Health and Future

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I am reaching out to share the story of my younger brother—a fighter, a soon-to-be father, and someone who is now facing an unimaginable health journey.

Recently, my brother was rushed to the emergency room after losing consciousness, experiencing vision loss, and becoming unresponsive. Upon admission, he was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and septic shock—a combination that left him critically ill and fighting for his life in the ICU.

The medical team worked tirelessly to locate and treat the infection causing the septic shock, while my brother’s body struggled to recover. There were moments when our faith was tested, and we feared the worst. But by some miracle, his strength, combined with the dedication of an incredible medical team, pulled him through.

While we are beyond grateful for his recovery from septic shock, the ordeal left lasting damage to his kidneys. He has now lost full kidney function and requires dialysis to survive. The hope is that his kidneys will slowly regain function, but if they do not, he faces the reality of end-stage renal failure and being placed on the kidney donor list.

This is overwhelming for our family, especially as my brother is just 30 years old and expecting his first child. Despite the challenges, his resilience and sense of humor have shone through, lifting our spirits during these dark times.

We’re creating this GoFundMe to support my brother as he navigates this new chapter in his life. Funds raised will go toward:

• Medical expenses and ongoing dialysis treatments

• Transportation to and from dialysis appointments

• Support for his growing family as they prepare for the arrival of their baby
