Hi, my name is Melinda. I am a mother to six wonderful kids. My oldest three, 22 and a set of twins who are 21, live on their own. This leaves me with my youngest three boys, 14 and another set of twins that are 7.

Our world changed on February 8th, 2024, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. A few days later, on February 14th, I found out the cancer had metastasized to my liver. I started chemo in March, and so far, this journey has been one crazy ride. I never thought I would be here or saying I have cancer, but here I am.

The reason I am doing a GoFundMe is my car needs some major maintenance, which I need to get to my appointments and treatment. Also, on August 1st, I am moving into a new apartment that is closer to the treatment center, and school starts back next month for the boys. I am still able to work, but not like how I was before the cancer diagnosis. I have thought of getting another job, but only to realize I can’t even make dinner without feeling exhausted. Each day it’s a battle, but I know I have to keep moving for my children. Any donation will help me to keep my vehicle running and also take the ease off of my daily life stresses while going through chemotherapy.
