Hi, my name is Melinda and I am living with metastatic triple negative breast cancer. It’s been two years since being diagnosed with breast cancer and being on chemo. I was originally told that I could never have surgery because of the cancer spreading to my liver. That I would need to be on chemo for the rest of my life or until the medication stopped working. Well I had a pet scan in January and it showed the cancer is contained to just my breast. so now my doctors think a mastectomy will benefit me. Originally the day I as going to be March 9, but my oncologist thought I should have a sooner and so then I was looking at the 20th of this month. Which would have gave me a little bit of time to get things in order. Well I received a call yesterday from the breast surgeon saying that my surgery is this Friday the 13th. So now I am scrambling trying to get my things in order for surgery and wrapping my head around this next segment of my life. I will be out of work for a few months maybe longer if I need radiation. It seems like something each day is added to my plate. All I can do is smile and to keep it moving. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be used towards medical expenses and bills., update I had my surgery everything went well until 2 1/2 weeks into my recovery I had a stroke and the drs found 4 lesions in my brain. Basically without treatment I am given 2 months and with treatment 4 to 6 months. The cancer is in my brain and the fluid around my brain. So any money donated will be used towards my living expenses, medical care and final arrangements for me. I will update as I go through this journey and I appreciate all the love and support.
