Help Melinda & Reina after tragic horse accident
Donation protected
On November 23rd Melinda Trujillo and her 15-year-old daughter, Reina Romero were on their way to a veterinarian appointment when a semi rolled in front of them causing an instant chain reaction. This instantly caused Melinda to hit another semi which disengaged her trailer causing it to flip with the horses inside.
One of the horses, Dee, was killed on impact while the other two had to be cut out on site. Both surviving horses have undergone surgeries and will need ongoing care.
Both Melinda and Reina, fortunately, survived each tore their shoulders and suffered from concussions, bad bruising and are left with the trauma and the aftermath of this horrific incident.
Dee was Reina's beloved high school barrel racing horse and watching this tragedy unfold before her has been something no teenager should ever have to go through. There is no other love like the love of a girl and her horse. This has been a devasting blow to Reina. Thanks to the bravery of her mother and many others crawling and cutting through to get to the other two horses they were able to save them. However, they are still not out of the woods yet. This next week will be very vital for both of them, especially Shasta.
Those of you who know Melinda and Reina know that their lives revolve around their horses. This is going to be a long process for both of them. The veterinarian bills are going to be enormous.
There will be a fundraising event on November Saturday 28th, but here is another option to give them a leg up in the meantime!
These badly needed funds will help cover the costs of the veterinarian bills, the surgeries for the horses, the ongoing cost to keep the horse's medical needs, and the burial of the horse who was tragically killed, Dee.
Anything is appreciated, these are hard times if you are not able to donate it is completely understandable your support is greatly appreciated. If you can forward this or post it on your timeline that would be appreciated also.
