My 2026 started in a way that I wish it hadn’t. On my way to work, I hit black ice and lost control of my car, spinning into the median and crashing into trees. A very scary moment when you’ve never experienced something like that. No other cars were involved, but my car was totaled. I already have a history of back injuries—I've fractured my back twice, have a herniated disc, arthritis, and degenerative disc disease, which is causing my spine to slowly deteriorate over time. This accident has made my pain and mobility even worse.

Working in retail, I live paycheck to paycheck. I’m still recovering financially from when my first car was smooshed on Suicide Alley in Harwich in 2023 (which I was not the one driving). Now I barely have funds to pay the towing company and absolutely no funds to be able to purchase a new car. I need a car not just for work, but also to continue doing theatre, which is a huge part of my life. My car insurance will only provide a small amount. I have never had any interest in creating a GoFundMe for myself. I hate asking people for any kind of help and especially for money. I don’t deserve it, but I’m really struggling with this loss. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and I will forever be thankful for everyone’s help and support.
