Hello everyone! My name is Melanie, and I have used a wheelchair for 5 years due to chronic pain and muscle weakness. This fund is to help me get an electric wheelchair!
My current wheelchair is a manual wheelchair, which means I have to be pushed by someone else since I cannot propel myself. This means I can't leave the house on my own, which greatly impacts my well-being. My new wheelchair would be an electric wheelchair, which would allow me to move around more easily and independently.
An electric wheelchair would allow me to:
-Run errands and go shopping
-Visit friends and family
-Participate in social activities
-Go to doctor's appointments on my schedule
An electric wheelchair would help me to maintain my independence and dignity. I would no longer have to rely on others for help, and I would be able to live my life more fully.
