We all can get stuck in the rain without an umbrella. Unfortunately for our friend, Melanie Bradley, she has been stuck in the rain for too long. But nothing keeps Melanie down. Despite an Ovarian Cancer diagnosis in 2012 and ongoing treatments and surgery, Melanie has continued giving to others. She uses her God given musical talent at the piano for Clear Space productions where she is Musical Director teaching the score to both young and old performers. She is choir director and organist at Lewes Presbyterian Church and directs the chorus at The Moorings at Lewes. Melanie is married to Jason Bradley and has two sons, one will be starting college this fall. Since 2012, when Melanie started the fight against cancer, Jason had periods where he was unemployed and without health insurance. Melanie and Jason have continued working hard but with two children to support, money has become very tight. Through periods of remission, more surgery, more debt, remission, another surgery and more and more chemo., they finally had to use their credit cards to make medical payments. Today they find themselves willing to accept financial help as she is once again watching her hair fall out in clumps. If you ask Melanie,” What keeps you going”, she quickly responds, “My faith in God and being able to give pleasure through my music to others. When I am at the piano I forget my problems. Music has gotten me through many trying times”. So many people have enjoyed listening to her play so we are asking others to help lessen the burden she and her family endures. ‘Go Fund Me’ is a simple way for friends to assist in doing so and thanking her for all the joy her music has brought to this area.
