Help Mel's Medical fund

Donation protected
Melissa is a dedicated mother of two and wife of our fellow Co-worker and friend Jim-

Last week June 8, Mel was found with life threatening injures/medical issues.  The medical bills are going to be overwhelming and any help would be appreciated.

Below if an excerpt from Jim: Please keep him, Mel, Teagan ( Daughter) and Murphy ( Son) in our prayers.

"This is undoubtedly the most difficult time we have faced in our lives, but each minute makes us stronger.
What I know is that my wife, Melissa, was working in the yard when a sequence of events transpired. At this time we are unable to determine which event came first and so on or what caused what.
Somewhere in the sequence my wife collapsed and was luckily found by a passerby unconscious and in seizure.
She was transported by ambulance to Longmont United Hospital where it was determined that she had an aneurysm on the left side of her brain that had burst.
It was decided to airlift her to Saint Anthony’s hospital down in Lakewood and there she was taken to the neurological ICU.
Further examination determined several things.
One, somewhere during all of this, she apparently had a heart attack because all the stuff going on in her head sent everything into panic mode. This is still placing great stress on her heart as I write this.
Two, while she was seizing, she aspirated into her lungs, which is creating another complication as the risk to pneumonia and other related infections is high.

At the moment, she is sedated, so that they can maintain her blood pressure at a semi-constant level and she is on a respirator to assist with breathing while she is under.
Every once in a while they reduce the amount of sedation to do tests of her reflexes and whether she breathes on her own and so far those have been encouraging.
This morning (Sunday) they took her for an angiogram in hopes of finding a way to fix the aneurysm.
We learned this afternoon that the neurologist will have to cut a hole in her head to get to the aneurysm and clip it to stop the bleeding. This is a risky process as one might imagine, and I was informed that an earnest estimate will keep her in the ICU down here for a minimum of three weeks to recover.
So, apparently they have to fix the brain first, then worry about her heart, then worry about any infection that could come in her lungs.

This afternoon (Sunday) they took her into surgery, where they performed a "craniotomy" (there's a new scrabble winner for you) which means they went into the left side of her skull, by removing a large chunk of bone, to get to the aneurism, and once they found it, they clipped it to stop the bleeding. After the surgery, so was taken to CT and all looked as good as it could.
As with any surgery of this type, the prognosis is "wait and see"
She is now in the ICU, still critical, and deeply sedated to allow any swelling and blood pressure to stay down so she can recover.

So, long story being long, I wait. A lot. And try to keep a lid on my mind.

It really is like a bomb went off right next to me. We have all been through a ton of s@#t, but this is truly a new level.

Moment by moment, you go from "holy S@#t" to completely brain dead.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Right now family is coming in, or here, so we don't need much, but I know the road is long and bumpy, so I just have to keep it together as best I can.
Sincerely,
Jim "
