I never imagined I would need to make a post like this, but today I’m asking for help for someone who doesn’t have a voice of her own.

I adopted Mel through a rescue when she was about to be euthanized. From the very first day, she brought so much joy into my life. She is sweet, loving, and just wants to love and be loved — like every animal deserves.

Unfortunately, I recently found out that she needs urgent surgery on her left knee. She is in pain, has difficulty walking, and without treatment, her condition will only get worse.

The surgery costs around $5,600, which I’m unable to afford right now. I’m single and work two jobs to cover my expenses. I applied for a loan, but it wasn’t approved because the amount was considered too high and because I haven’t yet completed 6 months in my current job to qualify for permanent employment. I also don’t have pet insurance, and even if I did, it wouldn’t cover this since it’s a pre-existing condition. Mel and my other dog, Piper, are my family here.

It’s incredibly hard to cope with the idea of seeing her in pain and not being able to help her immediately.

That’s why I’m creating this fundraiser. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this already helps so much.

Mel deserves the chance to run, play, and live without pain.

Nunca imaginei que precisaria fazer um post assim, mas hoje venho pedir ajuda por alguém que não pode falar por si.

Adotei a Mel através de um resgate, quando ela estava prestes a ser sacrificada. Desde o primeiro dia, ela trouxe uma alegria enorme para a minha vida. É doce, carinhosa e só quer amar e ser amada — como todo animal merece.

Infelizmente, descobri que ela precisa de uma cirurgia urgente no joelho esquerdo. Ela sente dor, tem dificuldade para andar e, sem o tratamento, a situação só tende a piorar.

O custo da cirurgia é de aproximadamente $5.600, um valor que infelizmente não consigo arcar no momento. Sou solteira, trabalho em dois empregos para cobrir minhas despesas e tentei um empréstimo, mas não foi aprovado por ser um valor alto e por eu ainda não ter completado 6 meses no meu trabalho atual para contratação permanente. Também não tenho seguro pet e, mesmo que tivesse, não cobriria por ser uma condição pré-existente. A Mel e o meu outro cachorro, o Piper, são a minha família aqui.

É muito difícil lidar com a ideia de vê-la sofrendo sem poder ajudá-la imediatamente.

Por isso, estou criando uma vaquinha. Qualquer contribuição, por menor que seja, fará uma grande diferença. E, se não puder ajudar financeiramente, compartilhar já ajuda muito.

A Mel merece a chance de correr, brincar e viver sem dor.
